Loblolly Pines in Historic Steven F. Austin Lands
The Loblolly Pine is a natural treasure that provides niches for many endangered species and is great at reducing soil erosion and is extremely drought resistant. Unlike all other coniferous trees, the loblolly pines in the Lost Pines Region of Texas reproduce quickly and don't need wildfires to stimulate the reproduction cycle, making it a unique and dynamic forest with the ability cover large areas of land quickly to restore them to their natural state providing habitats for many native creatures.
Native forests and wetland help the carbon imprint on our environment and are critical if we want to keep our endangered species from extinction and stop further encroachment and destruction of our natural treasures. Once gone these beautiful places and creatures will be gone forever. Our goal is to actively pursue and purchase these lands that are privately owned to maintain and improve them for the enjoyment of all and the extension of our native species. Texas has many endangered species that are on the brink of extinction. As a community we need to come together and accept the burden of our carbon footprint and actively pursue ways to reduce our impact on the environment and its native inhabitants.
